Looking for a great restaurant that’s prefect for date night? Look no further than SOL Mexican Cucina, located in Newport Beach. Grab a window seat and enjoy the waterfront view, while boats and kayakers coast on by.
We started our weekday dinner fairly early, with reservations for 6pm, and the crowd was fairly light. But an hour in and the tables were filled so reservations are highly recommended. We reserved our table on the OpenTable app.
They have a full bar with a variety of drinks available. We, however, skipped the alcohol and went straight to the menu, starting things off with their Tortilla Soup with Chicken appetizer, on top of the free chips and salsa they provided. And oh wow, with a generous helping of shredded chicken, this was more like an entree, and it was only $9.00. In a time where everything is so expensive, it was nice to feel we got a lot for the money. For our entrees, we enjoyed the Chile Poblano Renello De Elote and the Chicken ‘Desmadres’. Both were so flavorful, tender and beautifully presented.
A few other menu entre items we were eyeing for our next visit included the Goat Cheese Enchiladas, Grilled Wagyu Skirt Steak and the Fish Taco Gobernador.
