Nowadays, it seems we’re always looking for a little more power, portable power that is. And while we have a plethora of the small lipstick or brick sized power packs that are the typical company promotional item (which are much more useful than the stress-ball), we found ourselves needing just a little more juice or flexibility beyond a single USB port. Voila! The Togo portable power station is just what we were looking for.
It’s small and easily portable, weighing in at only around 9.2 lbs, and has a total capacity of 330 watts. It has 3 USB-A outputs, 1 USB-C output, cigarette lighter output, DC input, AC outlet, 2 DC outputs, wireless charger, built in flashlight and LED handle. Packed full of versatile goodness!
In our minds, we wanted to know how 330 watts translated…so what if we took it camping? How long would that last? How well would it outperform the smaller chargers? Would it last for one day, two, or three days?
We’re happy to report that it worked great! Just as we had hoped it would. We were able to charge multiple phones (4) each day for 3 days, a smart watch (for 3 days), one tablet (for 3 days), a flood light for evening use (which we only used for about 15 min each night), and plugged in three air mattresses for a quick and easy inflate. At the end of the camping experience, we still had 45% battery remaining.
Now there are other options out there that have a higher watt capacity, but it comes as at a larger cost. This unit was $329.99 at the time of purchase, and we got it from Amazon. It all comes down to how you plan to use it and how long you need to ensure you have ample power.
For our light camping needs, it did just the trick and we’re very happy with how it performed. If your needs are a bit more robust and demanding, we would suggest looking into a more upgraded option.
