We have to admit, at first, we weren’t quite sure what to make of the name, Flower Child. Was this a florist or perhaps a vintage clothing store? Well, we were delighted to discover that it was neither. Just a super cool restaurant located in sunny Newport Beach.
They have a nice mix of salads, bowls, wraps and entrees. What’s more, they offer quite a selection of tasty drinks to enjoy – from rose petal lemonade and draft Kombucha to an Arnold Palmer. On this day, we enjoyed the Flying Avocado Wrap with avocado hummus, romaine, tomatoes with smoked turkey, and the Ginger Miso Crunch Salad with salmon. We couldn’t resist trying a couple deserts, freshly baked each day. The lemon + olive oil cake was a simple, yet tasty muffin to pair with hot tea, and the chocolate chip cashew cookie has just the right touch of sweetness with a hint of coconut. Both were scrumptious!
We chose to sit out on the enclosed patio under an umbrella to enjoy the beautiful sunshine. Indoor seating was also quite popular with a bright and colorful hue and adorned with artwork throughout.
Important to also note is that parking was right in front with plenty of availability.
Although we were just looking for a new, fun and tasty lunch spot, this is a great locale for an informal business meeting or that special occasion to celebrate! (Flowers not included.)
