Ok, from the moment you walk in, you get it. This is not your typical men’s salon. The leather chairs, big screen tv’s, corrugated metal walls, and polished concrete floors welcome you in with a bit of certainty that you’ve come to the right place. An industrial vibe that feels a bit unexpected, yet cool.
Upon entry, on this overcast morning in late October (hence the decorations in the photos), my buddy and I were immediately offered a complimentary drink. Nice way to start things off wouldn’t you say? My first time visit included a basic haircut and 30-minute foam scrub and aromatic facial. The haircut is a typical monthly endeavor for this fading hairline, but the facial was an entirely new experience. A wonderfully relaxing, soothing, pause-the-day kind of experience. Since my eyes were closed during this remarkable bliss, I can’t quite articulate exactly all that occurred, but can say the warm towel, gentle face and neck massage, aromatic smells and exfoliating scrub and brush left me wondering why I took so long to try this.
There are several services available – haircuts, shaves and beard trims, facials, waxing, manicures and pedicures. If you want to schedule regular visits and save money on services and products, along with some added extras, check out their VIP and Classic Clubs.
So, if you’re looking for a place to get primped and pampered that’s a bit different from the typical, Hammer and Nails might just be your kind of place. Consider it like a poker night with the guys – except you’ll leave looking and smelling great!
