Best thing on two wheels for kids or adults. The Ninebot Segway is a ride with good zip-and-go, whether you want to just coast along or need a good push up a hill.
There are three speed modes, pneumatic tires, built-in front LED light, 7” anti-slip foot deck, 40 mile range and has a max speed of approximately 18 mph.
While we’re no experts when comparing all the various models out there, and there are several to choose from, what we can tell you is that we purchased a lesser version of a Segway scooter, lower in price and speed, and it didn’t meet our needs when it came to speed and the ability to climb uphill.
The Ninebot Segway Scooter is a different story. It has good speed and is able to climb uphill with ease (with exception to Eco mode, which is the lowest of the three speeds). Now keep in mind that the steeper the grade, the slower it will go and the more battery you’ll use up. But if you’re using it around town, college campus or your local park, you should be set to travel with ease on a full charge.
A few other things to note. This scooter is pretty heavy, weighing about 40 lbs. So if you plan to collapse the neck to transport it, or need to carry it up a flight or two of stairs, you’ll want to keep that in mind.
The price for this model doesn’t come cheap, but it’s worth the investment, in our opinion. We’ve seen pricing range from $650.00-$900.00, so be sure to do some comparison shopping.
