When you’re looking for a bustling beach town with plenty of shops, restaurants and activities, you don’t have to look much further than Huntington Beach, CA. And while there’s a lot we can focus on here, it’s the restaurant Sandbar that makes our Highlightable list.
The decor is fun and hip with big screens, plants hanging from the ceiling and nice accent lighting scattered about. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, but we took to the bar counter for this lunch.

They offer a nice variety of food and drinks on their menu. And while we didn’t order any tequila, it’s part of their name so we’re sure there’s plenty to appease your palette if you’re so inclined.
Our visit took place on a fall Friday, at 12pm, and we sat ourselves with no wait. Complimentary chips and two types of dipping sauces were provided quickly after we sat down. The staff was friendly and offered menu opinions and recommendations when asked. We ordered a couple of their Ranchero Bowls, and the food came out promptly. Portions were good, and by good we mean just enough to finish and not over-stuff oneself. For our next visit, we’re going to be sure to hit some of their seafood options.
During our lunch, there were a couple of hints that this place gets bumping with good tunes during the evening. We would suggest calling ahead to get a sense of their evening vibe, but pretty sure it gets loud!

Whether you’re going for lunch or dinner, be sure to give yourself a little extra time to hit the shops along this street. There are a lot of clothing stores that have a wide selection of swim, surf and casual wear.
